Ornaments That Are Making Me Laugh This Year

All from small businesses you can find on Etsy and Amazon.

I love to buy a few new ornaments every year — some for my tree, some as small gifts. They’ve become little time capsules of what the year felt like.
This year, I needed ornaments that could make me laugh — the kind that remind me it’s okay to be a little tired, a little irreverent, and still find joy hanging from a tree branch.

Below are a few I’ve either bought or plan to gift this November. Consider this my holiday survival list… but funnier.

The Funny Mom Ornament

“All I Want for Christmas Is a Self-Cleaning House”

With the busyness of the holidays — and for me, the added layer of surgery recovery — this one feels like it’s speaking directly to me.
House cleaning inevitably drops to the bottom of the list when healing, juggling 100 school tasks between November and December, and pretending to be at least partially festive.

Let’s be honest, I don’t really like to clean — I’m far better at making craft messes.

The “Survived-Year” Checklist Ornament

“Survived Year Checklist Ornament – Funny Christmas Tree Decor 2020–2025”

This one sums up my mood for the last few years — every single one of them has felt like a whole decade.
I think we all deserve a little trophy for showing up through the chaos.
If you’ve made it through 2020–2025 with some humor intact, hang this badge of honor proudly.“Survived-Year” Checklist Ornament

The “F-caw F” Chicken Ornament

This ridiculous chicken is perfect for my farming friend who thrives on equal parts grit and snark.
I actually laughed out loud the first time I saw it — the face alone!
Bonus points for being eco-friendly and made of wood.

The “Last F” Ornament

From the same creator — and one I’m definitely ordering for my best friend (and maybe half my contacts list):
“Oh look, it’s the last fuck I have, and it’s hanging by a string.”
Single moms, tired teachers, anyone limping into the holidays — this one’s universal.

The Appalachian Political Gem

“I’m Fixin’ to Jerk a Knot in the Government’s Tail”
It’s the perfect bit of Southern political humor for the year we’re having.
I’m snagging a few as stocking stuffers for my politically outspoken friends.

🎄 A Few Thoughts Before the Tree Goes Up

These ornaments are reminders that humor belongs in the holidays — maybe even more when life’s been heavy.
I’ll be hanging mine between the sentimental and the handmade, because laughter counts as decoration too.
